OPENING SPRING 2011

Chef John A Halligan and his partner Randy Carson, in a joint venture with Ridgewood based Greenway Realty Holdings will soon open their second restaurant - The Park West Tavern in Ridgewood, NJ in the space that was formerly occupied by the restaurant, Winberries.
The Park West Tavern will be a moderately-priced "modern American tavern" catering to families and to casual social and business diners. In keeping with Chef Halligan's reputation for premium-quality preparations, the menu will reflect his penchant for intense flavors and familiar textures.
Says Chef Halligan, "After eight years honing our style at The Park Steakhouse, Randy and I decided to open a place that brings the best of The Park to families and casual diners. As always, the ingredients we use will be locally-sourced and of the highest quality. The menu and the ambiance will be more casual."
The Park West Tavern's menu selections will include:
- Veal & Wild Mushroom Meatloaf w/ Smoked Bacon - Creamy Veal Jus
- "Pork & Beans" BBQ Pork Belly - Black Eye Pea Chili
- "Bangers and Mash" Sweet Onion Sauce
- "Lobster Poor Boy" Avocado & Pommery Mustard
- Hickory Smoked Brisket of Beef Sandwich
- "The Carsonova Burger" 8 oz Fresh Ground Chuck - Smoked Pulled Pork
The restaurant is now undergoing a complete redesign by designers/architects of Studio 1200 in Short Hills. The comfortable dining room will feature deep colors, pounded copper ceilings, teak wood accents, dark oak flooring, oil rubbed bronze finishes and banquettes throughout. Capping the warm experience is a fireplace located in the center of the room.
The large, comfortable bar at The Park West Tavern will feature hand-crafted Martini's, cocktails using top-shelf liquors and freshly-squeezed juices, as well a large selection of craft beers. Wine will also be a focal point of the Tavern having many high quality wines by the glass to choose from as well as a small diverse wine list featuring many small boutique wineries. The bar will also be outfitted with several flat screened televisions for sports viewing, and Chef Halligan is offering a separate menu for bar diners.
For Mr. Carson, a Ridgewood resident, the opening The Park West Tavern is a homecoming of sorts. He says, "We are looking forward to being a part of the revitalization of downtown Ridgewood."
Halligan and Carson are targeting Spring 2011 for the opening of The Park West Tavern. The restaurant will be located at 30 Oak Street in Ridgewood, and will be open seven days a week both for lunch and dinner. A private room will be available for small parties of 10 to 20 people, and there will be seasonal outdoor dining.
